This did not fix the problem though I did notice that when I am playing a song or video that should result in sound output the speaker under playback devices sometimes acts as if it is putting out sound because the volume bar next to it varies in size as if it was playing sound.
In regards to your method two I would like to point out my headphones are not Bluetooth and I have never needed to connect them with anything via bluetooth. I can find no evidence any drivers were ever installed but im not sure this is the issue as no headphones appear to work.
