These electronic transit theodolite instruments have integrated EDM (electronic distance measurement) that can measure both horizontally and vertically. If you are employed as a land surveyor or meteorologist, a total station should be considered a critical item on your tool list.
What types of accessories are available for total stations?While some stations come with optional accessories at purchase, others are sold by themselves and will require accessories to be purchased separately. These items can be found individually or as part of an accessories kit. Accessories devices can include:
- Tripods: Made from various materials that act as a mount for a total station.

Imaging stations make use of a coaxial digital lens designed to perform documentation that was once captured through a compact camera lens.
